Organizing….Check! Resolutions…..Never!!

I don’t believe in New Years Resolutions.  Nope, none for me.  It always seems like making them sets me up for feeling guilty and like a failure later on.  I DO however believe in making changes without any strings attached.
Last weekend I mentioned to my husband that I would like some small plastic organizational boxes for my sewing machine feet so he brought me a few he had in the garage.  Some to BIG, others too small, but I was able to convey to him what I needed.  The next day, he came home from a trip to Harbor Freight with a nice set of plastic boxes for me!!  here  I’ve always just kinda made due with re purposed tins, wipes boxes, or Ziploc bags for my foot storage needs and felt happy about it.  Trust me, it’s worked for many, many years but THIS year I wanted something different.  Even though I’ve been sewing for more years than I’m actually willing to admit too, I’ve never been much into specialty feet for my machine.  I was raised old school.  I had a “regular” foot, a “zipper” foot, and a “buttonhole” foot.  That’s all I thought I would even need and all I ever really used.  In the summer of 2010 I replaced my beloved (unrepairable) White ESP 4000 with a NEW machine.  I did this reluctantly, but it had to be done.  I purchased a Singer Quantum L-500.  The new machine came with issues and if you’re interested in reading about it you can check out my review of this machine.  here  My point is, the new machine came with lots of specialty feet and a “bonus” set of feet. Now that they are organized and safe in my new boxes, one by one I plan to learn what they do and how they work this year as a personal goal.  As a BONUS, my son made labels for each of my new storage boxes with his label maker.  label maker

I’m so pleased with my new organization that I think this might just be the beginning……Hummm, I think I’ll do the same thing for my “other” machine.
I wanted to add that there were 4 different box configurations that came in this set.  Each box measures 3 3/4″W x 7″L x 1 1/4″H
