This year I made myself some sewing goals and one of them is to make and give more handmade gifts this year.  So far I’ve made and gifted 2 but would like to continue on throughout the year. Let’s face it…..it’s very easy to go out and purchase a nice gift for a friend, but more and more people appreciate a handmade gift.  Something unique that truly shows how much the giver cares about the recipient.

Last week I happened to come across an announcement for a new sew-along being brought to us by National Sewing Circle.

This FREE event is being hosted by Ashley Hough, a Sewer, Crafter, Super Star!!  This is the perfect opportunity to participate in a sew-along AND have some handmade gifts on hand for when the occasions arise.  I also invited my Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 Fans Facebook Group to join in the fun with me. We had some takers within the group, so it will be interesting to see what they all come up with.  If you’re interested in jumping on board or reading about the sew-along click HERE for all the deets!!

This sew-along will take place over a 9 week period detailing 9 different projects:

  • Fabric Cards
  • Tote Bag
  • Orange Slice Coaster
  • Embellished Towel
  • Table Runner
  • Decorative Pillow
  • Make-up Brush Holder
  • Quilted Hot Pad
  • Zippered Pouch

Sounds like they covered something for everyone!!  I’m excited to participate and see what my group and I create together!  Many of these projects will be brand new for me, so that’s just another opportunity for me to challenge myself and push my boundaries.  Don’t forget to head over to the National Sewing Circle page and sign up if this is something you’d like to give yourself a challenge with too!
