This is the time of year that many announce Resolution’s for the New Year…..or NOT.  I’ve never been one to do this, however I do like to make small changes each year as a way of moving forward.  This year I’ve decided not to plan anything creatively…..anything at all. I want to be guided by the phrase that inspired my blog in the first place. “Strikes My Fancy”.  I truly admire those of you out there that sew or create with a plan, but that just doesn’t work for me.  I enjoy being inspired along the way by a piece of fabric, a color or an idea when it “Strikes Me”.  Planning it all out in a nice neat scheme seems to make me lose interest or ambition.  It makes me feel very boxed in and restricted. What if I see something that inspires me at THAT moment and it’s not within my “PLAN”? Well, then I’ve felt a sense of failure to not have followed through with that plan.  A sense of personal derailment.  Not this year!
I truly enjoyed the creative journey I was on a couple of years ago. Â I was making a point to try lots of new creative things. That’s part of what inspired me to start a You Tube video series featuring the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960. Â It’s certainly grown into something I’m very proud of! Â I will be going back and revisiting that approach and see where it guides me!!
