Hi Everyone!! This week I was inspired by a couple of videos is saw about a decorative technique that really intrigued me. Both videos showed how to use a foot very similar to a presser foot that came with my Singer Quantum Stylist 9960. It’s called “The Cording Foot”. I had forgotten all about this presser foot and had to go dig it out after seeing these 2 videos.
Well….after seeing how cool this foot was in those videos, I said to myself. “I can do that too!!” So I’m going to show you how to use this foot, show you some examples of cords you can use with it & share a couple of simple projects I made using this presser foot in my New Video!! It’s the perfect quick, inexpensive DIY project you can make for holiday gifts FAST!!
Here’s a photo of the accessories page right out of the owners manual showing this presser foot as #19, the Cording Foot. This presser foot has three grooves in the front of the foot that allow you to insert thin cording. Up to 3 separate pieces of cording can be inserted at one time and attached by using a variety of different decorative stitches programmed into the machine. So that’s an opportunity to add a nice amount of decoration to any project in one simple sewing operation!
I hope you’ll be inspired by this video to give this foot a try and come up with your own combinations to personalize your projects.
