Hi Everyone!! Happy New Year!!
It’s been a little while since I blogged, made a video or new project tute! Even with being absent for a bit, I’m pleased to announce my YouTube Channel, RoxanneStitches has made it to 4000 subscribers before the New Year!! Thank You to each and every one of you that supports my channel, by commenting, viewing and sharing!!
Time flies doesn’t it?? Been taking some time off around the holiday’s to rest, recoup, and evaluate where I want to go with RoxanneStitches.com into 2017! So with that in mind, I’ve decided to start a NEW FB GROUP!!
As some of you know, I’ve been making video’s showing how to use the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 for over 3 years now and also support an active FB Group dedicated to this machine. What you may not know is that I’ve also made video’s on the operation of the Singer Quantum L-500 and the Singer Pro Finish Serger. I didn’t continue on with the L-500 video series because it wasn’t a popular or current model even though I LOVE mine. The Pro Finish Serger is a current model and a machine I’ve wanted to continue on with by adding new video’s to my current series. I’ve also received many requests for more video’s featuring this serger. There’s also another reason why I’ve decided to get back into this series……It’s sad to say, but there’s something I’ve been noticing in some of the groups I’m a member of that I find disturbing. I call it “Singer Shaming”. A member of one of these groups will post a question about purchasing a Singer serger and most often they’re told not to purchase Singer. That Singer is NOT what it used to be. Well, what brand is quite honestly? So, my answer to this, “Singer Shaming” is Me starting a group for those of YOU that Own, Use and LOVE your Singer Sergers!!
The name of the NEW Facebook Group is “Singer Serger Fans“. Just click on this link to request membership.
- Maybe you own a serger and are afraid to take it out of the box?
- You’ve read that Singer Sergers are not good quality?
- You’re afraid to thread it and don’t know where to start?
- You’ve been “Singer Shamed” and regret owning a Singer?
- You think it’s too hard to thread or maintain?
If you’ve answered YES to even one of these questions, MY new group is for YOU. Sewing is supposed to be enjoyable, not frustrating. It’s time for you to learn to LOVE your machine and feel confident to make it your friend and create wonderful projects together!!
I own 3 Singer Sergers and find them ALL to be great machines. The Singer Pro Finish which is a basic serger is the one I’ve had a video series featuring for some time now and have decided to continue on with. I use this for constructing knits set up to do the 4 thread ultra safety mock stretch stitch. The other 2 sergers both have a multitude of stitch options as well as cover stitch options. I may do a video or two on those at some point if I get requests.
So if you own a Singer Serger or are interested in purchasing one, come join me on my NEW journey!! See you there!
P.S. If you do request membership to this group, please make sure there’s something on your FB page relating to sewing that’s public so I may approve your membership.
P.P.S. I get tons of requests from aspiring vocal singers. Yes, it’s true……mememe, lalalala…..
