Hi Everyone!  I know I’ve only been testing out the new Viking Jade 20 for a couple of days now, but I’ve discovered a few really great features!!  I LOVE the Removable Storage Tray.  Not only does it hold all the accessories for this machine, but it also holds the foot control and the power cord.  It’s like one pretty, little contained unit.  There’s also another bonus to it being closed up like this.  No little hands can play with any of the controls.   I read all the time how children play with sewing machines in their homes.  That’s a big no no, because little fingers can be hurt badly on so many parts of a sewing machine.  On the cutter, under the presser foot or by the needle.  This feature safe guards all of that.

Threading this machine is a breeze.  It’s really very straightforward, not unlike most new sewing machines.  Standard bobbin winding is easy as well, but there’s an additional bobbin winding feature.  I call it the Time Saving bobbin winding method.  I’ve never seen this feature on a sewing machine before.  From what I understand, this has been a feature that Viking machines owners have enjoyed for a while now. The closest I’ve come to seeing this was with my Singer Touch n Sew 600 that was gifted to me a few months ago.  The “reels” (special bobbins as they’re called) on that machine are wound inside the bobbin casing.  Such a cool time saving feature.  Singer really was such an innovator of new and useful sewing machine features.

Head on over to my YouTube Channel, Roxanne Stitches and check out my new video on the Viking Jade 20 Video Part 1, Threading and Bobbin Winding.  I hope you’ll find this feature as fascinating as I did.  I love sharing new sewing machine features with my readers especially when they’re unusual and a time saver.
