Ahhh…..Buttonholes.  For some reason they strike fear in the hearts of some, but I’m here to help you learn how to use this feature.  Anything new can be a little bit scary, but with proper instruction you can overcome that fear.  It’s always important to keep learning as we continue on in our sewing journeys.  For me, it’s what keeps things interesting. To be a life long learner.  It also ends up opening doors to new sewing projects.  Even though I’ve been sewing for most of my life, I still enjoy trying new methods and of course, learning new sewing machines.   Hence the purchase of the Viking Jade 20.

This machine has 4 built in buttonhole options.  Here’s a graphic taken from the  manual that shows each buttonhole option by number, suggested tension, a description of the buttonhole and it’s intended use.  Very helpful!!

In this video, Part 3 in my video series featuring the Viking Jade 20, I show how to use the buttonhole attachment.  I promise, it’s not a difficult process, just one that takes a bit of prep work.  I point out all the important details on the attachment/foot “C”.  Show you how to install it onto the sewing machine, and do a stitch demo of one of the buttonhole options.  It’s always a good plan to do a test buttonhole before sewing on your project.  This way, you know the buttonhole is the correct size for your button and you can make any necessary adjustments beforehand.   I even show how to cut open the buttonhole in the safest way possible so once you make those perfect buttonholes, you will be able to make them functional.

As a special bonus:  I also share several tips that I learned while practice stitching buttonholes on this machine.  Tips to help streamline the process for you and make your buttonholes look more professionally made for your project.  Please head on over to my YouTube Channel, Roxanne Stitches to view this video.
