Hi Everyone!!  I’m so excited to share my first video pattern review.  If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’m best known for sharing video’s featuring the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 on it’s use and operation.  So being on camera is a departure for me since I usually do “up close” how to video’s.  Claire from Pear and Penguin Dressmaking YouTube Channel, put out a post asking for vloggers and blogger to sign up to participate in her #sewatop challenge 2020.  Unfortunately, I didn’t see her original post, but luckily for me there were a few slots left when I became aware of the her challenge.  I jumped onboard because I always love a chance to try something different.  I’ve written many reviews over the years, but I’ve never done a video pattern review.  So, this was my chance to branch out a little bit.

When I agreed to join the #sewatop challenge, I knew exactly which pattern I wanted to try.  It was a pattern I had downloaded for free a while back from Sinclair Patterns. It’s called the Sienna Top and honestly, it looked great in every one in their testers photos.  The drawstring detail on either side of the hipline looked flattering on EVERY SINGLE PERSON.  How often does that happen??  So…..I was excited to give this one a try ever since.

Please check out my 1st Video Pattern Review:

PDF patterns are still a new adventure for me and I had some trouble printing the pattern the first time around and needed some advice.  I posted my problem in the Sinclair Patterns Facebook group and they were extremely responsive in helping me with my issues.  My next print was perfect and I was on my way.  If you’re new to PDF patterns like I am, it’s nice to know that there’s a FB group to help with support just in case there are problems.  I’m very happy with the way my Sienna Top turned out and will probably be making another soon.

This #sewatop challenge it taking place for the entire month of August and here’s the roster of participants.
