Happy New Year Everyone!!  It’s hard to believe this is my first post this year and we’re pretty much mid month already. I started off the new year by doing 2 things:  Cleaning & organizing my sewing & video studios (not as much fun) and exploring my New Lia Sewing machine (fun).  It’s always nice to start off fresh and clean for the new year isn’t it? I found a few pieces of fabric I had forgotten all about and now have “plans”!!  That was the necessary part, but then I went back to the fun part….. exploring a brand new sewing machine.  This machine is very different from the Singer brand machines I’m used too.  I’ve found it has some features I really like that my Singer 9960 doesn’t have.  So now I’m ready to share some of this great information for those that have asked.

In this video I show how to use the Utility Stitches.  These are primarily the straight and zig zag stitches, but also include the stretch stitches, and a few others.  A great feature of this machine is that these stitches have one touch accessibility because they’re located right on the front of the machine.  No hunting around through the menu to find the perfect stitch to get started sewing.  Once the desired stitch is selected, I will show you how to modify the length and width of those stitches.  I also show how to change the presser foot and share a few other wonderful features I discovered about this machine.

If you received this fabulous machine recently and you’re brand new to sewing, Welcome!!   I hope you find this information helpful if you’re just starting out sewing with the Lia Sewing Machine by Mood Fabrics.  If you need help with threading, using the needle threader or winding a bobbin, make sure to check out my Video Part 1 where I show all those sewing operations in detail.

If you have a questions about this machine or would like to see something covered in a future video, let me know.  Until next time….
